Mike Quashne
Senior Manager, Health Safety Security and Environmental • Luminace
Mike Quashne is the Senior Manager of Health Safety Security & Environmental at Luminace. In this role, he is responsible for the health and safety of employees and contractors building, managing, and maintaining more than 1,800 commercial and community solar generation sites, as well as the physical security and environmental protection programs for each.
Prior to joining Luminace, Mike gained eight years of experience leading safety and human performance groups at Baltimore Gas & Electric and PPL Electric Utilities. His leadership in the safety and human performance space included SIF prevention, safety leadership and culture, organizational safety strategy, human performance improvement, and incident investigation. Mike also brings his previous experience as a US Air Force officer. His assignments during his service included leading personnel units, process improvement teams, and an assignment to US Air Force Headquarters in the Pentagon developing strategy and policy for workforce development.
Mike’s unique leadership and mathematical background has allowed him to drive innovative solutions to reduce the risk of injury to employees in the field. He is a recipient of the CSRA Safety Leadership Award, a Southeastern Electric Exchange Industry Excellence Award, and has been invited to speak to safety, utility, and construction organizational all across North America.
Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy in 2007 and a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 2011. He is also a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, a Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) through the Utility Safety and Operational Leadership Network and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.
